Responsibilities
Description:
Ethanol
Plant General Manager (Process Design Group)
Goodland, Kansas (US). The General Manager supervises and controls the
activities of the Plant employees in the production of ethanol and co-products.
By contract between KL Management and the Plant, the General Manager is an
employee of KL Process Design Group but provides General Manager duties at the
Plant site. The General Manager coordinates daily with personnel in KL
Management on operational and technical matters to maximize profitability of the
Plant.
KL Process
Design Group provides process design, permitting, detail design, construction
and production management services for bio-refining facilities throughout the
United States from its office in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Technical Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. |
Provides expert leadership, mentorship, coaching and discipline to Plant employees. Leads by example and enforces standards and expectations across all facets of the business. |

2. |
Responsible for the safety program of the Plant. |
|
3. |
Plans, directs, and coordinates the programs and activities of the Plant to accomplish established goals and objectives. |
|
4. |
Defines, recommends and controls operating and financial objectives; develops, in conjunction with KL Management, Plant Board of Managers and Plant mid-level managers, short and long term budgets and programs with supporting budgetary requests along with financial estimates for each Department and the Plant as a whole. Works with the Plant CFO in developing the budget. |

5. |
Approves all Plant purchase requests and review all invoices in a timely manner. |
|
6. |
Responsible for all business, plant, maintenance, purchasing, marketing operations to ensure maximum profitability. Directs operations to achieve and maintain budget goals. |
|
7. |
Maintains timely reporting of financial and operational information to the Plant Board of Managers. |
|
8. |
Maintains a positive Plant image and relationship in the local area, state and the renewable fuels community. |
|
9. |
Develops a spirit of teamwork and a positive command climate within the organization. |
|
10. |
Responsible for the selection, employment, promotion, and discipline of employees. Develops pay, incentive and benefits packages in conjunction with KL Management. |
|
11. |
Directs and generally supervises Plant employees in their performance of assigned duties and in the manner, in which they pursue their objectives and programs, renders advice, assistance, and guidance to all employees. |
|
12. |
Ensures all city, county, state and federal rules and regulations are in compliance. This includes but is not limited to: air and water quality discharge permits, TTB/BATF, OSHA, State Department of Revenue regulations along with State Department of Agriculture Feed and Grain regulations; and any other requirements pertaining to Plant operations. |

13. |
Observes legislation impacting the ethanol industry and works diligently to retain all current incentives available to the Plant. Work with legislative representatives as required to improve and maintain the Plant’s competitive edge in the ethanol industry. |

14. |
Maintains a continuing professional development program regarding economic, industry, and technological development and trends in the ethanol industry. |
|
15. |
Overall responsibility for all aspects of Safety and Environmental compliance while supervising the Safety and Environmental Manager. |
|
16. |
Overall responsibility for grain purchasing, ethanol marketing and distiller’s feed marketing departments and ensures best pricing scenarios for all products. |
|
17. |
Ensures all production costs are minimized and all finished product revenues are maximized. |
|
18. |
Maintains a positive Plant profile and awareness in the community. |
|
19. |
Provides monthly reports to the Board of Managers as required. |
|
20. |
Answers directly to KL Management Services through a contractual obligation between KL Management Services and the Plant. |

Education: |
BS in Business, Marketing, Administration preferred. |
