The current corn-ethanol controversy is perfect for a media
environment sometimes more focused on selling negative hype and bobble-heads,
than objective journalism. We have so-called experts that contradict each other,
the issues du jour are hyped and recycled repeatedly, without much credible
information added to the confused mix, a noted ethanol critic in Professor
Pimentel of Cornell who is continually quoted, a regional and national agenda to
make biofuels part of the path to energy independence and a factor in economic
growth and that always willing contingent of people ready and waiting to jump on
anything negative and run with it, substantive or not. What a perfect
combination to keep the mainstream public hopelessly confused on a critical
issue that will have a tremendous impact on our children and future generations.
We intend to help bring some semblance of reason to an all too often irrational
discourse by addressing these issues directly and supplying credible, third
party sources of information. All of these files are available to download in
PDF format. We encourage you to do so and share it with anyone who is
interested. We all need to take a part in the debate and determine for
ourselves, as best we can, what is fact, fiction or valid points of debate.
All of us at KL Process Design Group believe that corn and cellulosic ethanol is
part of the path to energy security for our children and future generations. Our
hope is, after studying the credible information provided here, that you will
too.
